ESSCA East Sussex School of Circus Arts is a trade mark and copyright protected company. Any pictures, videos, media content, information and contacts are reserved by East Sussex School of Circus Arts. Use of these contents without explicit agreement of East Sussex School of Circus Arts may and will be legally prosecuted.

Terms and Conditions

Our services are always conditioned by the availability of the staff/artists/ performers and equipment. We advise the reservation of the services as soon as possible. The services will be considered reserved after receiving the deposit from the customer and our confirmation reply.

 

SIGN IN AND SIGN OUT: all students that comes in must sign in and sign out at the School Reception, if coming for After School clubs please do make sure a member of staff is present please don’t leave without a member of staff taking over.

HYGINE/WASHING HANDS: Please make sure on arrival everyone uses the washing hands facilities regardless if you bring your own hand sanitiser then is you want use both but please do use our own, this is here for everyone’s safety.

ABSCONDING / LATENESS: If you arrive to your lessons 10 minute late, then we have the right to refuse entry to your class. This is to ensure the safety of student as a proper warm up is needed before the lesson starts. Please arrive 5 or 10 minutes before your lesson, and If a student leaves the site during the school day or leaves an activity off site without the expressed permission of a member of staff, The student will not be allowed back in school for that session unless there are special circumstances (staff discretion). If East Sussex School of Circus Arts are concerned about the safety and wellbeing of those who abscond, then the parents or police will be notified depending the reason.

VIOLENCE/ USE OF WEAPONS: If staff or students are thought to be at risk by the actions of any student, we will take precautions needed to ensure everyone’s safety for example, evacuation of the area of risk. We reserve the right to call the Police. Force will only be used to enhance safety of the students and in consideration of individual needs (i.e. SEN, age etc.).

USE OF WORDS: All members of our community will always be challenged for using offensive, discriminating and/or intimidating words. Everybody has the right to be safe and not to be spoken to in such a way. It is everyone’s duty to ensure that this is a reality at the School. Language is always offensive if it is: ● Threatening ● Sexist and/or Sexualised ● Racist ● Homophobic ● Disrespectful of individuals’ beliefs or religion ● Disrespectful of individuals’ physical appearance.

FORCE OF MAJEURE A “Force Majeure Event” occurs when we can continue ( war, fire, death, illness, weather or other capacity certified by a properly qualified medical practitioner, epidemic, accident, civil commotion, national calamity, order of Government or Local Authority having jurisdiction in the matter, changes in law, foreign government policy or any act beyond human control) and which is not attributable to any act or failure to take preventive action by the Artist or Client.

PAYMENTS AND REFUNDS All bookings must be done fourteen (14) days prior the classes start – whichever is sooner – paid via class for kids. refunds are not available but can be transfer to another term, If the term starts and you have attended one class and you can’t continue the term this is not refundable.

BULLYING: Bullying in any form will not be tolerated. A bully is an individual who torments others through verbal harassment, physical assault or more subtle methods of coercion. This includes cyber-bullying. If bullying is identified, then action will be taken accordingly. This could jeopardize your place within the school.

CAR PARKING: Please make sure you park at East Sussex School of Circus Arts and not at the Ski Centre or Knockhatch Adventure Park as this are separate business.

CLOTHING/ UNIFORMS: Warm and comfortable clothes always recommend. Please do not use shorts or sleeveless t-shirts. School T-shirts are also available prices from £12.50.

MOBILE PHONES/PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO: Mobile phones have the potential to disrupt learning and distract individual students. They may also be used as a tool to bully, intimidate or harass. We would prefer that you leave your mobile phone somewhere you deem safe on the premises and switched to silent during lesson time. Please do not take photos or videos without School Written Permission, all the parents will have 10 minutes access at the end of each term to see the students development.

DRUGS or ALCOHOL: Drugs and alcohol are not permitted on site and will be confiscated and handed over to the Police. Students perceived to be under the influence will be considered unfit for school and learning, and in respect of this, will be asked to leave the premises. The Student will be registered as ill and staff will contact next of kin. East Sussex School of Circus Arts will encourage that students are seen by a medical professional to ensure they are fit and healthy.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY: All incidents of damage will be recorded and Renato Pires (Founder/Director) will be notified. We will use CCTV recording and/or pictures of the damage to ascertain responsibility and inform the perpetrator with a request for a contribution towards the cost of repair or replacement of the object damaged. We all take personal responsibility for our actions by taking a restorative approach to harm. In that spirit an alternative to payment could be for the student to contribute time to repair the damage or take part in the maintenance work. This will be agreed by all and supervised by staff. Repeated acts of damage or vandalism will result in police involvement and legal action.

REFUSAL/ NON ENGAGEMENT WITH LEARNING: Students that harm the learning environment consistently and/or do not engage with lessons will be given 3 warnings. Once the third warning is given, you will be ask by the instructor to leave the premise. A meeting to follow up on such behaviour will be appointed. Continuous refusal can lead to dismissal of the school.

STEALING: Stealing is a criminal offense. All incidents of theft that are not immediately resolved will be reported to the police.

SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted on the East Sussex School of Circus Arts premises, except from designated areas.

TENT POLICY: Only Water allowed inside the tent and no eating at anytime inside the tent unless approved by the Principal or Headteacher, only students are allowed at the tent. Parents, family members and guests will be asked to wait at the top area next to the reception or social area.

Payment conditions: A fifty (50) percent non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking or fourteen (14) days prior to the show – whichever is sooner – paid by bank transfer. The balance is to be paid immediately upon completion and/or delivery of the service.

2.1. If the requested service is cancelled by the customer, we are unable to refund the deposit.

2.2. If dates of an event are altered by the customer, East Sussex School of Circus Arts Events reserve the right to charge 50% of the agreed payment to cover artists booking fees in addition to the full fee for the re-scheduled event.

 

All photographs on our website are for illustrative purposes only and may not reflect the product or artist that will perform at your event.

3.1. Unless otherwise agreed the customer will allow East Sussex School of Circus Arts Events the use of all photos and videos commensurate with the service we are supplying in our marketing including but not limited to our social media channels, website, flyers and advertising.

 

Permissions: The client is responsible for acquiring any permission and licences necessary to the permanence of the services/equipment on the venue premises.

 

Show: All material/equipment is our responsibility. For face painting we require one table and two chairs and access to water.

5.1. The artist’s/performer’s only responsibility is to entertain and perform during the event.

5.2. The artist/performer is in no way responsible for the care of children or guests. East Sussex School of Circus Arts Events do not take any responsibility for any incident that may occur during the party.

 

Venue/ Premises requirements: A suitably sized changing room is required for the artists/ performers to dress and characterise. It is required that there is adequate, marked out space/area for the artists/ performers to perform.

6.1. For our Fire Breathing acts we require at least a 4 meter safety zone of empty space between the performer and spectators with the aim of preventing any type of injuries or accident.

6.2. An electrical socket is required near the stage/ performing area.

6.3. It is the customers responsibility to make sure such requirements are met prior to the booking of any of our services. If at any time before or a performance it is determined that the artists/performers safety, or the general public safety is at risk, East Sussex School of Circus Arts Event reserves the right to cancel the event without reimbursement.

 

A “Force Majeure Event” occurs where a party is unable to comply with its obligations under this Contract for a reason outside of its control (including but not limited to – war, fire, death, illness or other capacity certified by a properly qualified medical practitioner, epidemic, accident, civil commotion, national calamity, order of Government or Local Authority having jurisdiction in the matter, changes in law, foreign government policy or any act beyond human control) and which is not attributable to any act or failure to take preventive action by the Artist or Client.

Equipment: Rigging and de-rigging of our equipment is included in our service. East Sussex School of Circus Arts Events DO NOT take responsibility for any incident that may occur with the equipment during the show.

8.1. Damage caused by misuse of the equipment by the customer or guests of the customer may be charged to the customer.

8.2. Within the area of the bouncy castles the use of footwear is not allowed, food, drinks and sharp objects are not allowed. Wearing socks while using the bouncy castle is advised.

8.2.1. The presence of a supervisor to ensure the well being of children whilst on the bouncy castle is advised. The rental of equipment usually has the same duration as the party or the service.

 

East Sussex School of Circus Arts Events Membership Card: We are a local business so we do ask that when your membership expires you buy a new East Sussex School of Circus Arts Events Membership card.

9.1. Delivery : Please allow up to ten (10) working days  for delivery of online orders subject to location. Delivery time is subject to stock availability from the fulfilment locations and this period may be extended up to thirty (30) day.

9.3. The Membership Card is valid for the period of 12 months from the date of purchase.

9.4. East Sussex School of Circus Arts Events membership discounts cannot be used with existing promotions from our suppliers. Discount valid when payment is made at time of booking.

 

East Sussex School of Circus Arts Events does not permit our customers to contact our Artists directly for business without East Sussex School of Circus Arts Events Permission.

 

Changes to these Terms: East Sussex School of Circus Arts Events reserves the right to amend these Terms without prior notice. Amended Terms come into effect from the time they are posted on the website but will not apply retrospectively or to any of your then current orders. You should review this page regularly to ensure that you are aware of any changes to the Terms.

BY BOOKING ANY SERVICE WITH EAST SUSSEX SCHOOL OF CIRCUS ARTS YOU ARE AGREEING TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

* All extra charges are referred to the rental of any
equipment during a show, being operated/ monitored by a member of the staff.
